Road transport of Floor tile

Throughout its many years of experience, Transiberica, an international road haulier, has actively sought to increase its flow of goods and its network of customers throughout Europe. Thus, we have developed import lines of tiles from Portugal (Aveiro, Coimbra), Spain (Castellon, Onda, Nules, Castellon de la Plana), Italy (Modena, and Bologna), Poland and the Czech Republic (Plzen). We are also specialised in importing tiles to France. Tiles are one of the most widely used floor coverings in Europe. In recent years, the sector has diversified and offered increasingly innovative ranges such as porcelain stoneware, faux wood floors, ceramic tiles or traditional mosaics. Each country has focused on developing a different type of tile. For example, the Czech Republic is known for its low-cost tiles, Spain for its earthenware and Italy for its avant-garde designs. The tile factories are usually located en masse in the same regions in order to facilitate road transport flows. The tautliner trucks pick up batches from the various factories and store them at our logistics platforms. Following cross-docking or handling operations, international goods are sent to France or to another country in the European Union to optimise road haulage flows.

For this type of freight, our international goods transport solutions are aimed at large specialised distribution chains (materials, DIY or construction), craftspeople, or independent shops.

The ceramics are loaded on pallets in our curtain-sided trucks in either partial batches (what we call “groupage”) or in full loads. We accept all types of pallets: 80 x 120cm, 120cm x140cm and even oversized pallets (samples). The trucks can load up to 25 tons internationally, and 29 tons in France.
